Bhutan Pine / Himalayan Pine
A beautiful and very elegant evergreen conifer with a broad pyramid growth habit and long slender drooping blue-grey needles 8" (20cm ) long. This tree is an excellent specimen pine, grown for its attractive foliage and decorative pine cones that are produced in November.
Grows best in full sun in moist, well-drained soils and sheltered from strong winds. Prepare the soil well prior to planting with the addition of a quality soil conditioner or compost. Water well in and keep well watered during prolonged dry periods. Once established, it is tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions including sandy drought prone soil, coastal sites and urban pollution. No pruning required.
