Product descriptions & photographs
We take care to ensure that the description, measurement, colour, and price are correct but please be aware that colour variation, shape or size may vary depending on the time of year.

The photographs we have used are of our plants growing on the nursery. Due to seasonal changes the plant you receive may not have flowers (evergreen plants) or leaves (deciduous plants).

The dimensions of the plants are approximate and may vary. The height listed is the measurement from the top of the pot to the height of the tallest stem.

We take care to make sure our product information is correct. If you should find any errors we may have missed, we welcome you to get in touch via email.

The plants
We grow a range of plants that we consider suitable for the UK climate. This very changeable depending on your location. Please take reasonable care to ensure your plant is suitable for your environment and provide extra protection where required according to your geographical location.

We sell our plants all year round and some plants may not be looking their absolute best if ordered out of season. You are welcome to get in touch for further information on how the plant is looking prior to ordering.

The plants should be well rooted through the pot but cannot be guaranteed as plants of the same species can grow at different rates. Patio plants will be transferred to their pots prior to dispatch which will result in some loose compost around the roots.

Some plants are pruned during the season to encourage new growth and to maintain a manageable size.

Occasionally we may run out of stock of a certain plant after receiving your order. In these circumstances, we will inform you as soon as possible and refund the cost. We are more than happy to suggest alternatives.
 
All plants should have a label attached with name and growing instructions. Some plants may have generic labels attached where the growing instructions relate to those plants in general and may vary slightly for the species.

Packaging
All our plants are shipped in cardboard boxes and wrapped in recycled newspaper offcuts, which provides great protection, is kinder to the environment and helps to keep costs lower. Gift plants can be wrapped in brown craft paper and a gift tag added with a personal message for the recipient.

The Nursery
Hot Plants is an online retail business, so the nursery is not open to the public. We can arrange for customers living in the local area to collect plants to avoid shipping charges. Orders
Please place orders via the website as it is difficult to take orders over the phone. When the order is placed, we will assume you have read and understood the growing conditions of the plants and accept the price and delivery charges.

You will receive an automated e-mail confirmation that we have received your order. This does not guarantee we can fulfil your order, but should a problem arise that prevents us from fulfilling your order we will contact you as soon as possible.

Completing an order is subject to availability. Sometimes a plant listed as ‘in stock’ may have ‘sold out’ through a different sales platform or be unavailable for other reasons. We can always offer a suitable replacement, but if this is not acceptable, we can adjust or cancel the order.

Payment
All orders must be paid in full prior to dispatch. Payment can be made by most Credit/Debit cards or via Paypal

Cancelling an order
You have the right to change your mind and cancel an order prior to it leaving the nursery. Once you have received a dispatch notification it’s on its way! If you cancel your order before it leaves the nursery, we will refund your money within 10 working days.

Non fulfilment of an order
There may be circumstances when we are unable to fulfil your order. This can happen for a variety of reasons:

  • The product has sold out.
  • We have not received payment.
  • The packaging size is above the limit set by our couriers.
  • Geographical restrictions apply to delivery in some areas of the UK unless you accept and pay a surcharge.
  • Your order has not registered on our system. If you have problems with our website, please get in touch and we will try and fix it!

Prices
The price displayed includes all taxes but excludes delivery cost. We reserve the right to change our prices, but this will not affect orders already placed. We may choose not to fulfil an order containing major pricing errors.
