Giant Rhubarb
Stunning and most spectacular plant, valued for its handsome foliage and dramatic flower spikes. A very large, clump-forming perennial bears greenish red flower spikes in summer, reaching up to 1 metre tall.
This plant needs lots of space and is best grown at the edge of a stream or large pond, or a in bog garden. Grow in deep, permanently moist, humus-rich soil in partial shade or sun. Needs protection from frost and strong, cold wind.
Native to: Colombia to Brazil
Eventual height & Spread: 1.5-2.5m x 3-4m
Supplied height: 40-50cm
NB This plant will die back in winter with no leaves present!
